My thoughts fly up, my words remain below

Some people speak charms and incantations, some eat right and workout, others get an education, but we all create and recreate ourselves daily.  I tried to write myself into each of my stories hoping this will be my journey to the new and uncompromised self.

Like the song playing now annoyingly in my head,” I get knocked down but I get up again “(you have it in your mind now too?  You are welcome!)  I conquered boredom and avoided anything average by stubbornly hitting my head on the same wall of possible rejection over and over again .Despite years of being held hostage to various detours, I know I have evolved and matured and could possibly have some beautiful things to say !!

The other day,  my good friend, editor and publisher suggested I write the story of my journey from an ordinary and somewhat anonymous presence in the ethereal world of the internet to my international fame and fortune I found after the publication of my very first book.

Well, fame and fortune may come in handy at some point or another, but as of now, in the words of the bard himself: ”My thoughts fly up, my words remain below.”  My hope is that you will travel with me through time and along many lands as I weave my ghostly stories.

I named my collection Ghost Stories because every tale I wrote  fed off some old memory, some  people I knew, I loved,  I married.

All throughout  I uncovered every story begging to be told .

I am still unsure of my footing but I'll get the hang of it eventually.

As a stereotypical engineer, I tend to think of things analytically. Regardless of how we market and position ourselves, it's the quality of the work and vagaries of the market that determine the ultimate success. So, why not presume greatness? How many time have we seen these prophesies become self-fulfilling? And, if we fall flat on our faces, what have we lost? Some pride? A buck or two?

A rags to riches story is always interesting. Let's write one.

David McCullough was quoted saying when questioned about his own success “Real success is finding your lifework in the work that you love.”

He might be on to something ,me thinks !

Welcome to the world of blogging, Adina and all the ups and downs of it.

Ghosts of our past? Yes, I do believe we all pull from them to create our characters and recreate life on the pages of our books.

Congratulations and best of luck in your new endeavor!
